Bing Hitchcock

UK Artist

Winner of the Master of art international 2016

My journey started a couple of years ago when I heard Grayson Perry deliver his Reith lecture for BBC Radio 4 entitled 'Playing to the gallery.' Here, he set out to demystify the art world. It seems it isn't a scary place and anyone can come in. Grayson encouraged anyone that had a bit of art in them to have a go and make a career. That was in August 2014 and I took his advice. That same day I decided to dissect the seeming opposite and make a pact with myself to strive not only for excellence in composition but also in the final master.  The next step was to sell everything I owned, including my house and dive into art.

For an artist, I've had a bit of an unorthodox start. I was a professional musician for over 15 years, but a twist of fate meant a change of career when I broke three fingers and subsequently moved into the moving picture world. What followed was a highly successful, 14-year career behind the camera as a Camera Operator -- Director of Photography and Director working with the biggest stars in music and comedy.

All my paintings are mastered to ChromaLux HD  using a process called ‘dye sublimation.’  They are UV protected, waterproof, abrasion resistant, fire resistant and chemical resistant – making artwork suitable for almost any interior or exterior environment. They come with a 1-inch sub-frame, ready to hang.
